Huff Po Attacks Me Again!

It seems to be twice a month now that the Huff Po attacks me for something I’ve posted that lines up with God’s Word. Last week they were mad at my pro-life posts, this week in their article, “25 Shades of Hate,” they are mad at me for defending the Biblical definition of marriage…a year ago! They just can’t let it go. It’s Jesus they are attacking, not me. Who cares what I think?!

John 15:18
“If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.”

Some of my “Christian” relatives think it is a waste of time, or in poor taste, for me to defend the Lord on the Internet, in the media, or in the public square. But, I believe Edmund Burke’s “All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.” I also believe it is a Christian’s duty to defend his faith and God’s Word at every opportunity God brings.
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

James 4:4 says “to be friends with the world is enmity with God,” or as the New International Version translates it, “…don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

So, there is a choice to be made. I cannot serve “God and mammon.”

Here are verses that deal with persecution. I think of the persecuted Christians around the world who aren’t being harassed by the ridiculous Huff Po, but are actually being imprisoned, beaten and murdered for their faith in Christ.

Matthew 5:10-12
“Happy (Blessed) are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.
“Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU.”

2 Timothy 3:12
“In fact, all those desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus will also be persecuted.”

John 15:20
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”

Psalm 9:13
“O LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death…”

Psalm 119:86
“All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for men persecute me without cause.”

Psalm 119:157
“Many are the foes who persecute me, but I have not turned from your statutes.”

Psalm 119:161
“Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles at your word.”

Matthew 10:23
“When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”

Matthew 13:21-22
“But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.”

Acts 11:19
“Now those who had been scattered by the persecution in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, telling the message only to Jews.”

Acts 13:50
“But the Jews incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.”

Romans 8:35
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”

1 Corinthians 4:12
“We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it…”

1 Corinthians 15:9
“For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.”

Hebrews 10:33
“Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated.”

Hebrews 11:36-38

They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated- the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.”

1 Peter 4:12-16
“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Psalms 9:13
“Have mercy on me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, you that lift me up from the gates of death…”

Psalms 119:86
“All your commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help you me.”

Jeremiah 20:11
“But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.”

2 Corinthians 12:10
“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
